Symptoms/Side Effects of INH
Your doctor has decided that you need INH (Isoniazid) treatment. It is important for your health and the health of others that you take your medication as instructed every day. Please let the Immunization and Travel Clinic know if you have these symptoms:
Change in vision
Clumsiness or unsteadiness
Urine brown or dark
Diarrhea
Loss of appetite
Loss of weight
Nausea and vomiting
Pain in upper abdomen
Skin rashes
Stools lighter in color
Tingling and numbness of hands/feet
Weakness and fatigue
Yellowing of eyes or skin
Any reaction to foods - Swiss or Cheshire cheese or tuna, or sardines
Take your medicine in the prescribed amount every day, and return for follow-up visits.
DRUG RECOMMENDATIONS:
Do not drink alcohol
Do not use aluminum-containing antacids or laxatives (they reduce INH resorption)
Do take vitamin B6
Do take with food if not tolerated on an empty stomach
Do not get pregnant
