Menactra/Menomune Post-Vaccine Instruction Sheet
(Menactra/Menomune A, C, Y and W-135)
In 85%-95% of recipients, the meningitis vaccine provides immunity to four of the eight disease-causing serogroups, beginning 10-14 days after immunization.
Adverse reactions to the meningitis vaccine are mild and infrequent, consisting primarily of redness and pain at the site of injection that may last one or two days. Rarely, fever of short duration may occur. You may use a fever reducer/ pain reliever of your choice to alleviate symptoms if desired.
Should you develop prolonged or high fever, contact your physician.
