Women’s Health Clinic Walk-in and Appointment Policy
In order to save you time and avoid confusion, the staff at McKinley Health Center wants you to know how to most efficiently use the services offered by the Women's Health Clinic.
Routine care
If you are in need of a yearly examination, birth control, breast check, Pap smear or other preventive women’s health care; call 333-2700 and select Women’s Health to schedule an appointment.
Special problems
If you have a special concern or problem (for example: possible urinary tract/bladder infection with vaginal infection, genital bumps, breast lump, abnormal vaginal bleeding or discharge or pelvic pain, etc.); call 333-2700 and select Women’s Health and ask to speak with the Women’s Health Clinic Office Nurse for assistance in obtaining an appropriate appointment. For urinary tract/bladder infection symptoms without vaginal discharge/symptoms contact your primary health care provider.
Walk-in hours
The time is 2:45 - 4:15 p.m., Monday through Friday; nurse practitioners see patients with appointments at all other clinic times. The walk-in hours provide an opportunity to talk with a nurse practitioner about birth control refills or problems, emergency contraception, and other questions of a minor nature requiring five or less minute’s discussion. Patients are seen on a first-come, first-serve basis. Exams and testing are NOT performed during walk-in hours.
If your problems or questions are in-depth or will require an examination, they will be addressed in an appointment; call 333-2700 and select Women’s Health and ask to speak with a Women’s Health Office Nurse.
We hope that in clarifying our procedures, you will receive the care you need in the most professional, efficient manner.
