SportWellAt SportWell's Fitness Education Program provides a variety of fitness information, which can help you start an exercise program or make changes to your existing program. If you have been trying to increase your fitness level to get the results you want, the SportWell Fitness staff may be able to help you redesign your program to make it more effective. Individual AppointmentsUI students meet one-on-one with a trained fitness professional at SportWell. Some topics may include: developing exercise prescriptions, strength equipment demonstrations, or personal fitness assessments that include body composition, resting heart rate, blood pressure, and strength and flexibility measurements. Living LeanLiving LEAN is a 10-week series of fun and interactive group sessions for students who are interested in weight loss and healthy lifestyle choices. Learn about proper nutrition and exercises to create a personal workout program. Outreach ProgramsLet our fitness staff provide general fitness information including exercise guidelines, target heart rate, exercise prescriptions, and demonstrate strength and flexibility exercises to your group. Fitness workshops are available for residence halls, cultural organizations, Greek chapters, academic classes, and Registered Student Organizations (RSO's). Call 244-0261 for more information. Fitness PeersA volunteer peer group that is trained in a variety of fitness related areas. Peers facilitate workshops, plan campus events, and develop fitness materials for students at the U of I. For more information contact McKinley's SportWell Center. Recruitment is for a limited time at the beginning of each semester.
